3.15.14e.v., The Ides of March.

Current and future plans:

At the moment we only have two shows scheduled for sure: one in May and one in June.

Booked for the first show we have D.J. Cadybug (host of WNRN's Subculture Shock) and "DJ.k00k" (tha adbusta of Augusta).

If you'd like to join in and help, what we need now more than anything is word-of-mouth and online promotion.

Attendance and bar sales will determine whether or not DAWNING becomes a regular event.  If picked up as a regular monthly event, we have many hopeful plans for its future (and are always open to your suggestions), such as:

-Hosting live music and nationally touring acts on the Annex stage.

-Providing a vendor table for attendees to sell clothes, jewelry, crafts, zines, etc.

-Featuring original art and photgraphy on DAWNING flyers and promotional materials contributed by you, the attendees; including on those materials links to your sites or contact info to promote your work in conjunction with the event promotion.  Contributors will have the final say as to how their work is used.

-Serving as a kind of cross-promotional hub for all who attend or otherwise support this event, spotlighting the creative and entrepreneurial endeavors of the attendees.

-Encouraging Video Collage Artists to submit a DVD of their work for digital projection in the club.

-Using the stage for non-band live performances, such as dance or fashion.

-Offering Free "Laptop DJ Basics Bootcamp" with "Coach k00k" to anyone interested who provide a typed or legibly-written, credible, thirty minute DJ setlist intended for a full dancefloor.

Coach k00k claims he can "make you a DJ in eleven minutes or less or quadruple your money back".

From his experience working with the Richmond goth/industrial night Sacrosanct, he believes it crucial that a healthy alternative club night give as many as possible access to DJing.

-Facilitating networking with other scenes (and each other), expanding an online presence via YouTube and other social media for the purposes of long-distance creative collaborations and problem solving.

-Raising funds to install a stripper pole in the Annex.  WHO'S WITH ME?!?!

-Creating an inclusive, healthy night that can evolve over time and is sustainable for the long term.  We want to see a regular event that can outlive the involvement of any one individual, including us.

-Making all of your dreams come true.  ;D
